Inclusive Development International has joined with civil society partners to share a series of recommendations for strengthening the independence, accessibility and effectiveness of the bank’s Accountability Mechanism.

On April 3, responding to intense sustained advocacy efforts by project-affected communities and civil society organizations, the respective Boards of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the private sector arms of the World Bank Group, approved their long-awaited Interim Remedial Action Framework (RAF) which has now been published.

One year on, survivors of child sexual abuse at Bridge schools have received no remedy or relief. The “remediation program” that Banga promised the individuals who were abused at IFC-funded Bridge schools while IFC staff looked the other way is instead being designed as a public good community wide program to provide services for sexual abuse survivors in the districts where Bridge operated.
