Mindie Bernard is a research associate at Inclusive Development International. She is a human rights advocate specializing in corporate accountability and community-led development. Prior to joining our organization, she consulted for Advocates for Community Alternatives in Ghana, supporting a series of community-led advocacy and legal initiatives across West Africa to defend communities’ rights against destructive resource extraction projects. She has also consulted in Brazil, leading research and designing international advocacy campaigns with an indigenous community resisting extractive projects in the Amazon rainforest. Mindie previously worked for the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative implementing good governance and human rights programs in the DRC and Somalia. She has a master’s degree in human rights from SciencesPo and a bachelor’s degree in international studies from the University of San Francisco. She is fluent in French.
