Annie Burns-Pieper is the deputy research director for Inclusive Development International based in Montreal. Before this role, she worked for ten years as an investigative reporter in Canada and internationally. Her past work includes stories on Indigenous water rights, sexual violence on public transit, maternity care, physician overbilling, hospital suicide, tax havens and pipelines. Annie’s award-winning journalism has helped open national conversations and sparked policy change. She has reported from Canada, The United States, Australia, Madagascar, India and Malaysia. Annie has master’s degrees from Ryerson University for journalism and the London School of Economics for global history. She is a photographer, painter and writer.
